This passion became quite an obligatory step for Livio as four years ago he started practicing the sport of knife throwing, participating in various national competitions.
The need to have custom made tools therefore meant that Livio started to create his own blades. A few years later he felt the need to go further, and create other kind of knives (such as hunting or outdoor knives, and various others), learning all the different steps to create them in a completely self-taught way.
Before arriving at this point, Livio joined a workgroup stydying historical research in experimental archeology, to accommodate his son's passion for the Middle Ages and its weapons. This led him to playfully start to use bow and crossbows, which he then started to produce. At the same time he also participated some axe throwing tournaments (francisca type), and was even placed first on one occasion.
Livio is currently an ACHI's member (Associazione Coltellinai Hobbisti Italiani - Italian Knifemakers Hobby Association). He manufactures his knives using mainly stainless steels (such as N690 and MA5M), but also using D2 steel and sometimes damasks and sanmai forged by his friends.
