Biker Z

News on knife market with the entry of Kizlyar Supreme, Hi-Tech next generation knives manufacturer from Russia.

After its debut in 2011, which took place simultaneously in Russia, Germany and Australia, Kizlyar Supreme has become in a short time leader brand in Russia, and is now enjoying success on European market.
Composed by a multicultural team of designers from Russia, Germany, Japan and Australia, the Kizlyar Supreme Company has succeeded in creating products that are characterized by precision finishes and quality materials.

The variety of Kizlyar Supreme's knives is large, ranging from fixed blade hunting knives and those from mil-tac and outdoor activities, up to the folder knives. All Kizlyar Supreme's products are characterized by simplicity of the lines, but at the same time, they were made with the imperative to be really useful. So they don't need of unnecessary embellishments, because their ultimate goal is to be functional and durable.
In particular folding knives, usually available in different designs and finishes, are characterized by precision and accuracy in machining; indeed Kizlyar Supreme is at the forefront with the modern equipment and machinery for knives manufacturing.
Among folding knives the choice varies from classic lines, such as those of "Gentleman" and "Karbuk" models, to more modern and versatile lines, such as "Bloke" and "Biker" series.

The latter, in particular, is made in various versions: Biker X and Biker Z, both with liner-lock system and rather similar in design but with some structural differences. Biker X models, available with different finishes, feature a double guard and a secondary safety mechanism.
The Biker Z instead features a single guard, and is devoid of secondary safety mechanism. This doesn't imply that it is a lower-end product, but it is simply a variant that allows a different use of the knife. The absence of the guard, allows the positioning of the thumb more advanced along the blade spine, to perform operations that require greater precision.

The Biker Z is a generously sized folder (open size is 22 cm), with a modified clip point blade 89 mm long and 3 mm thick, made of AUS-8 steel with Titanium gray coating finish.

The liner-lock is achieved in a rigorous manner, with precise mechanical couplings that give strength to the knife. The blade is very stable, and can be opened with thumb-stud, or with the kind of flipper (although it is not explicitly a flipper opening system).

The blade accurately rotates on a pivot with standard torx head, and with the aid of two teflon washers, which makes the opening quite smoother. Initially, as happens with all new folding knives, the opening will be a little hard, but after a series of openings and closings, the blade will start to open with a pleasant smoothness.

Steel liners are located in a recess on the G10 scales to accommodate them with perfection; the thumb stud acts also as stop pin and abuts on steel liners, to avoit that G10 scales would be ruined during time and create blade plays.
The G10 textured handle, despite its simplicity, inspires a certain class to the whole knife line, making it pleasant and suitable for every occasion.

The Biker Z blade is also available in D2 or 440C steel, with satin or titanium gray coating finishes. The G10 handle color can be selected between gray and desert.

This product has great qualities and potential, while presenting some points which, in my opinion, can be improved; for example, the reduced protrusion of liner flat spring makes the blade closing a bit difficult, especially for those who have large fingers.

Kizlyar Supreme professionalism and kindliness is admirable. They always make attention to customers feedback, so they are always ready to make improvements in the new models.

Surely these prerogatives are another point in favor of a young Company that has proven to have a great dynamism and competence since its inception, producing reliable and quality knives with a close eye on small details such as packaging. Let's forget the boxes made with a folded cardboard sheet, here you you can appreciate a simple, sleek and practical rigid box equipped with magnetic closure..
To carry Kizlyar Supreme's folding knives, you can separately purchase the pouch made in ballistic nylon  and compatible with MOLLE system. The pouch is made in different models and configurations, ideal for carring multitools, flashlight, and other accessories.

Given the compatibility with MOLLE system, these pouches can also be adapted to the Kizlyar Supreme's sheaths for fixed blade knives and to all the tactical gear available on market.
Kizlyar Supreme products are available through the German website, and they have a very good value for money. The Biker Z has an average price of 50 - 60 euros depending on the steel used (440C or D2).
In witness of the Company's attention to their products quality, all knives are endowed with life assurance against any manufacturing defect.

Overall, the feeling expressed by all these factors is absolutely positive. Dynamism, quality and convenience are good and sought after. If we add to this the professionalism of Kizlyar Supreme staff, we will get a brand that, though young, has the right stuff to find its place in knife market.
