Chimera and Double Helix by WE Knife

25 July 2018 Author :

WE Knife Co. presents in July two interesting new knives: the  Double Helix and Chimera.

Double Helix

Referring to the double-stranded molecules of nucleic acids such as DNA, The Double Helix is a very innovative design with a new locking mechanism, the sliderlock.
This locking mechanism is located on the outside on both sides of the frame and constructed with a very durable titanium coiled spring which is connected to a locking axis. It took our engineering team one and a half year to develop and tune the locking mechanism till we were confident (and convinced of the strength) to release it in our first design equipped with this lock, the Double Helix.
The Double Helix features a midsized every day carry folding knife, capable of doing most common daily tasks. Its innovative (never seen before) design is suitable for the gentleman who favours to carry & use something different with safety being an absolute must. Being very capable, the Double Helix is very carryable as well. Maintenance is reduced to a minimum because of the well thought design.
WE chose to make the spring out of 6alv4 titanium, because steel springs eventually will break.

The Double Helix is available for our resellers to order from july 23rd 2018. MSRP on the Double Helix is $335. Actual prices can vary based on local taxes and regulations.

 The Chimera

After one year of intense development, we finally can announce the Chimera. The Chimera is an inhouse design of a full sized folding knife. From the beginning it was our goal to design a tactical knife with the characteristics of an “every day carry” knife with details the collector would please as well.
The body of the knife being produced out of (the highest grade available) 6al4v titanium and a blade of S35VN bladesteel, is assembled with ceramic bearings & titanium hardware. Avilable in two color varieties, the Chimera is packed with subtile design features and very attractive looks. Showing early prototypes on Social Media, Bladeshow and IWA already gained a group of excited followers for this design.

The Chimera is available for our resellers to order from july 23rd 2018. MSRP on the Chimera is $298,-. Actual prices can vary based on local taxes and regulations.
