Trentini Stefano

04 October 2014 Author :

Stefano Trentini was originally a motorcycle mechanic but in 1987 he embarked on his path as a knife maker purely as a hobby, drawing inspiration from a stainless steel bar in his own workshop, thus creating his knife n ° 1, which is still proudly conserved in his laboratory.

At that time the knowledge and information about knife making was not readily available as it is today (thanks to the advent of the internet and numerous knife oriented forums), so Trentini was forced to learn from his mistakes, always trying to improve and achieve the result by his own ability.
Thanks to this dedication and perseverance Trentini was able to refine his technique, creating his own blades entirely freehand (with the exception of the initial roughing that is made with a belt sander), with the use of sandpaper and rasps. He still employs the same technique, thus creating real unique pieces.
The creativity and imagination led him to realize knives with particular shapes and with a very finished detail.

The materials used by this knife maker for the creation of his blades are almost exclusively stainless steel, which he likes to pair with stabilised burl or other fine woods, all chosen in harmony with the sheaths which are also handmade by Trentini himself.
All his works have been created merely as a challenge against himself and his passion starts and ends in the pure invention of the knife, so his objects are not for sale.
